File dialogs, at home in the desktop.

Apps that use the desktop portal now open and save files through Drill in a Lyku OS Desktop session.

Changed

• Drill is the default file chooser for apps that use the desktop portal.
• Other desktop sessions keep their existing chooser. Your own portal preferences still take priority.

Upgrading

Download and run the installer again to update an existing preview. Updates are manual. Log out and back in to use the new file chooser.

To keep your current login screen and boot theme, use:

bash lyku-os-desktop-install.sh --desktop-only

Release scope

This preview includes the same 14 apps as the previous release: Command, Reap, Type, Capture, Drill, Image, Documents, Calculator, Clocks, Listen, Video, Storage, Backups and Software.

Install on an existing Ubuntu desktop. Standalone apps need a Wayland session. The bootable ISO and OS update registry are not yet published.
